Boosting the immune system

Vaccinations are given to ‘trick’ the immune system into thinking it has been exposed to a specific disease. The immune system remembers the disease that it has been vaccinated against, then if it is exposed to it again, the body can mount a defence much faster than if it had never been exposed to it.

Are you smitten by your kitten?

Britain’s cat population was estimated to be 8.8 million in 2010, with the gap between dogs and cats quickly closing as the most preferred pet for UK households.  The reason for this could be because they easily fit into increasingly busy and urban lifestyles, as they require less time and outdoor exercise compared to dogs.
